How to Design a Traditional Style Home Office

At this modern time, everything changes quickly, especially in terms of technology innovations.
However, there are still a lot of folks out there who misses and desire to bring back a classic or traditional style life they had before.

And, I thought of it is still possible to have that kind of 'traditional style' and you can bring it to your own home office where you spend several hours per week or even per day.

So, I want to show you some videos and other ideas that you could use on how will you design your very own traditional style home office

First, I want you to check whether you have done the necessary steps to set-up your own home office, click here to see it.

If you have done that, I want you to plan how will you design your space at home into a nice home-office, using this page called Jerome's. I always recommend this free site that has a very user-friendly and helpful tool in planning room, whether it's a home office or any other type of room.

This is how it looks like....

It's very simple to use and it's very effective guide when making your dream vintage style home office.

Now, let's start on the second process, defining the wall.

Having a nice traditional styled home office doesn't start with placing your furniture and fixture, giving a definition to your wall is one of the most important part of any type of room make-over.

So, I want you to choose a traditional style shade of color paint of wall paper that you want to use for your home-office wall. Here's the best website that gives nice variety of colors of paints, click here to see Benjamin Moore.

And this is how it looks like...

If you prefer wallpaper on your home office and not sure which one should you choose, here's the best website that offers a few different options of wallpapers that are really pretty good looking, click here to see farrow & ball wallpapers.

And here's a video on how to paint and stencil your wall...

And of course, here's a photo of what they offer...

Third, the heart of your home office, furnishings.

There are plenty of vintage style or classic style furniture that has ranges of prices, some are pretty affordable, other are discounted, and the best ones are a little bit pricey.

If you are going to ask me, what are those furniture that I am talking about, I'm referring to executive office desks, vintage style filing cabinets, traditional leather executive office chairs, drawers, barrister bookcases, and many more.

And of course, here's a very nice video on what materials are needed to install wallpaper, perparation, and installation of wallpapers on your wall...

1. Tools and materials needed....

 2. Measuring and cutting the wallpaper...

3. Installing the first wallpaper sheet...

4 & 5. Installation of wallpaper...

I'd like to share a couple of my favorite traditional home office furniture that I found online...

This is a traditional executive office chair, a lot of people like it as well and actually some of them bought it and gave it high ratings 'cos its cushion is very thick and firm, yet very comfortable to seat on.

It's made of solid wood and nice vinyl leather cover, and the classic traditional button tufted styling gave it a great look.

Of course, a traditional home office wouldn't be completed without a functional accent like this barrister bookcase.

I think this highly recommended for people who like collecting limited edition collectibles, expensive or favorite books, and trophies to show and protect to other people who visit their home-office.

Aside from those furniture, you can also consider buying a globe, vintage lampshade, hat holder, and so many more.

Lastly, implementation...

Planning is one of the most challenging part of the process where you need to search so many things in every details. But, everybody gets excited in implementation.

Probably this the make or break part of home office make-over. The process that everything is ready to be put in the right place. For some this is pretty challenging, especially when assembling a  brand new furniture that takes hours to do. But, for some this is the most enjoyable part to bring out the result of their effort.

I'd like you to watch this videos on how to transform your simple (and some terrible) home at home into a nice home office space at your very own house...

So, there you go, I hope those videos, free websites, and other information will help you have a good idea on how will you transform your own home room into a nice work space as your home office.
